Service Description

Prerequisite: G2 level or equivalent proficiency through a placement test The D1 Course is crafted for those who have successfully completed Kitah Gimmel or have begun studies in Kitah Dalet. This level highlights active engagement in high-level Hebrew conversations and writing exercises. Our study materials range from poems by distinguished Israeli poets such as Natan Zach and Rachel, a story by Etgar Keret, to current newspaper articles. We'll also screen an Israeli movie, facilitating group discussions and one-on-one dialogues. Diverse topics will spark our conversations, including Jewish laws in modern Israel, the interplay between culture and language, the role of women in the security service, and human impact on the environment. Students will be introduced to an elevated vocabulary primarily from scientific and legal fields, while writing short essays that will challenge them to enhance their vocabulary and refine their grammar skills. The course concludes with a test in the final week to qualify for the next level, D2. Grading considers oral and written tasks, in-class engagement, and the final test results. Held in our welcoming Tel Aviv Ulpan, the course includes a workbook specially developed by Aviv Bertele and access to a vocabulary app tailored to your class level.
